My mom and I are both nurses. She is oncology, I’m ICU and summer camp nursing. Two of our biggest issues are: their app and payment. Their app rarely works! They require you to get a manager/charge to sign on their app after every shift. Tried multiple times, called their customer service. Just kept getting,“Turn it off and on again” responses. Crap. This happens almost every shift. So I try to get paper timesheets to fax but they will not work with me. THREE PAYCHECKS in a 13 week contract were either not given or not correct. I can’t get access to my paystubs! I will NEVER work for this company again. And you shouldn’t either.
I have worked per diem and one contract with favorites. The per diem pay was acceptable, the contract pay was not. Far below what the going rate was, not to mention the current boosted rate during the covid pandemic. I was never able to use the insurance I paid for, having never received cards or a live person from Aetna to speak with. What I did receive was a lot of talk and promises that resulted in me never working with this agency again.

The recruiters need to clearly review our qualifications via certifications and find us jobs that we can do with the certifications we have. I have been forced to take certifications that don’t pertain to my jobs because I was given an assignment, signed for it, and then told after the fact that I need so and so certifications. I am then rushed to get them or I can’t work. This makes it frustrating to get packing and moving towards my final destination when studying quickly and testing involved literally right before the assignment. Transparency is not apparent when you’re being offered the job. If I had known, I could have declined and made them find something else that did not require these certifications. I could then always pursue them on my own, unrushed time.
I am on my first travel assignment which got canceled half way through. Nobody talked to me from the facility or the agency, found out when I showed up and my name is nol onger on the schedule after this week.
Was sent all the way to Washington from AZ by this company on a contract. Once in WA was told “sorry, we guess the contract expired.” This is after in drive 2k miles! Not only that, but in previous contracts I was frequently cancelled, my pay was inaccurate, and the contract managers were rude and extremely derelict in their duties. I can’t for the life of me understand the companies claims of ‘a 4 Star’ service rating. I worked 3 contracts for Favorite so I know of what I speak. Did you know Favorite makes on average 4 times what they pay you on a single contract! Bypass travel companies all together. Most hospitals either hire Travel Nurses themselves these days (and because they cut out the middle man the pay is 25-50% higher) or are hiring PRN with guaranteed hours at a higher rate than travel pay. Do yourself a favor. Decide where you want to go, then check out the hospitals in that region and see if they offer any of these options. Travel agencies are a thing of the past. Most hospitals won’t utilize them these days because they are unreliable and too costly.
JC and the others at Favorite are extremely supportive, reliable, and friendly. They have responded immediately to the few concerns I have had while working with their group.
