  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I want to clarify that this is Kenosha United Hospital. Extremely unhealthy environment. Most unprofessional group of nurses I have worked with in my 15yrs of nursing, very caddy, nasty, and downright mean to travelers and to each other. There is no such thing as teamwork in this ICU. Many MD's are rude and one hung up on me and then called back saying we were disconnected after it was clear that I heard the phone slam down. This MD was known for this. The rest of hospital is nothing like the ICU, they are very friendly on the other floors. Often staff would comment that they would love to cross train into ICU but they would go to another hospital to work ICU because the staff in the ICU at their own hospital were unprofessional and simply put "mean". They do self scheduling in the ICU and a core staff nurse was suspended for erasing the hours the travelers had put down. My best advice to any traveler is to stay away from this ICU!! Luckily I worked with a great agency through this ordeal that was supportive. Luckily my other six assignments elsewhere have been extremely positive. 01/04/2015

  • I worked in the CCU department(s) in the hospital. The CCU is the ICU. They do hearts, but are far behind in practice and standards. The manager had no ICU/CCU experience. The do not appreciate in put from any one. It is very high schoolish. Cafeteria is closed on nights. Food cart is available on nights.. the days left overs but the quantity is limited.
