  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. The nurses on this floor are great. However, as a traveler, you are first to float. I was floated to other floors and was completely dumped on a couple of times. This is a HCA hospital!! That means understaffed, limited resources, and management is more concerned with "patient satisfaction" than they are with keeping food in the fridge or supplies in the supply room. The PCU ratio was 5:1, but few were "true" PCU status, more like tele patients. Charge takes patients, CNAs have 10-15 pts. When I was there, the unit went through 3 interim/perm managers. They operate like HCA managers, too. Having said all that, I've never been more welcomed by a group of strangers, and if it wasn't for them, I would have ran away at 13 weeks, but I ended up extending with them. I would not say to avoid the hospital, but it's HCA. However, the coworkers get you through, they work their butts off. 08/02/2016
