  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. I loved this hospital!!! I still have some great friends I keep in touch with and go to visit from time to time. I wanted to stay permanently but I knew I wanted to keep traveling. The doctors are amazing and the staff wants to be there. They welcomed me and soon I was part of the family. They are a smaller facility and it feels like a big family. They do expect you to know what your doing though otherwise it will not be a pleasant experience. I did not get a lot of orientation it was one day in the core and then boom in a room with no one to ask but the doctor. On the other hand though they always have turn over staff and someone is always there to open your room. It is the smoothest running OR I’ve ever been in and run so efficiently. They allowed me to expand my growth as a Surgical Tech by learning spines. I told them that I was the strongest in Ortho and that’s where I wanted to be. 90% of the time they kept in Ortho and Spine. They do expect you to work though and if you like over time this is the perfect place! We normally worked 50 hr weeks because they were so short staffed and I always said yes to over time. Plus I took a lot of call but if call isn’t your thing you only do 5 days a month. I can’t say enough nice things about this place! Truly the staff wanted to be there, the charge nurse didn’t let the doctors get away with treating the staff rudely. There was only one horrible doctor. But you learned to just keep your mouth shut and he only comes once a month. I stayed 6 months and never wanted to leave! 05/04/2018
  • Housing was approximately 25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Private Housing. Housing was located in city of Boise. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing can be hard to find. The housing in Nampa is super ghetto and often times your looking in Boise for housing. I lived both in meridian and Boise. It took me less time to get to the hospital in Boise then it did from meridian and I lived in the heart of downtown! The housing gets expensive though in Boise. I found a steal at $1250/Mon for a 600 sq ft run down home. Everything else was around $1600/mon. But I also had the amenities of a downtown vibes. I could get anywhere I wanted in about 5 minutes by car and Lyft was only $5/per way.
  • I worked in the Float Pool department(s) in the hospital. The hospital is wonderful to travelers. I loved every floor. MEd surg ratio is usually 3-4 pts for day shift and 4-6 for night2 shift. ICU is 2- 3 pts, Mother baby is usually 3 couplets. ER is usually 3-4 pts. Peds hardly ever has a pt so you have to work as med-surg nurse if no peds. All the charge nurses are very supportive. They treat travelers as their own. Staff and management are all very friendly and supportive. As a float I had just the schedule I requested and they were good about letting me trade shifts with others. Nampa is a nice quiet town and close to the city of Boise. Very recreational state for outdoors activities like camping, hiking, fishing, skiing. Very low crime rate. I found my own housing on craigslist for 1100 a month had 3 bedroom with all amenities. Had to pay own utilities. Was 15 mile from hospital only a 25 minute drive. This is an amazing place. Would live here if I didnt love to travel so much. 07/19/2014
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was River Quarry Apt. Housing was located in city of Boise. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. On river and green belt. Workout facility on site. Washer and dryer in unit. Not furnished. Got cheap furniture on craigslist and at yard sales.
