- I worked in the Maternity department(s) in the hospital. EXTREMELY UNSAFE STAFFING AND UNETHICAL PRACTICE! If you are there alone your call person can be an hour and a half away. The manager tries to claim she's not far away but doesn't always answer her phone and is out of town sometimes. Sometimes she schedules herself as the second nurse and ends up working all day thinking she can just be home on call at night. Left me with three couplets and an active labor and thought it was fine cause I had an ICU nurse...who had no background in the field and was extremely uncomfortable.The doctor is lazy and has been known to stick a finger into the woman's rectum as she's pushing and the baby's crowning. I witnessed him offer to do this to a first time mom ("to help her out") who was pushing well, baby looked good and she told him no she was ok doing it on her own. He did it to her anyway, and she even said no when he did it. Then he tried to convince her the discomfort she felt was from the baby not him. There's hardly any housing, and lots of businesses are closed. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE!!! Especially if you value your license! 07/03/2019
Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was La Quinta Inn and Suites. Housing was located in city of Deming. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Fair enough hotel - I worked in the Surgery department(s) in the hospital. Management lacks knowledge of Standards of Practice, micro-manage staff, and discourage staff from thinking on their own, disregard safe Nursing Practices, reprimand staff in the presence of others,negative attitudes , discourage staff against socializing outside of facility.If a staff reviews policy, management states the policies that are available to staff are no longer effective, and when staff ask to review current policy they are told it's being worked on. 06/30/2014
