  • I worked in the Cardiovascular unit department(s) in the hospital. I was very unhappy at Parkland. Staff was clicky and made it clear they did not want newcomers. The management was new around. One CNA was delightful and actually did her work. The others were on their phones constantly and were put out when asked to do their jobs along with me. Charting Was outdated and required double and triple charting. The other travelers with me opted out early even with a penalty. She just couldn't stand this environment one more minute. I have never gotten along well on an assignment, but something was very, very wrong here. Indeed actually sent me a copy announcing that one of the charge nurse was required to go to anger management classes...Stay far, far away. 12/25/2017
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Fairview apartment. Housing was located in city of Derry. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. The staff in ICU were super welcoming! they were just so happy to have more nurses. the unit was super small 8 beds. i had to learn to mix all my meds as there is no pharmacist at night and if there is we need a dr to do something overnight the ED dr is all we have. Housing is expensive I went with provided housing and I was at the Fairways, it was not like a had read it was nice I was in a newly remodeled apartment and used to gym and pool all the time. I could also walk to work threw the park! 12/14/2017
  • Housing was approximately .5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was The Fairways. Housing was located in city of Derry. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. My agency only furnished bare bones furnishings so I had to get a few things. Derry is a quiet cute little town but it is close to Boston, Portsmouth and the leaves are amazing in the fall
  • I worked in the Cath lab department(s) in the hospital. I should first stay that this hospital was very nurse friendly in general, but the Cath lab was not. They have too much staff and not enough work, and was told straight up that they only wanted me there to take call. The physician practice that comes for procedures does not like working there and will look for anything that the traveler may do they don't like so that they can cancel the case and have it shipped to another hospital. I was told this by management directly. I had one nurse who would not allow me to function in a room providing patient care and kept overstepping any attempt I made to provide nursing care. When I brought this to the attention of management, I was told I needed to "push her out of the room". After I tried to do just this, the nurse then complained about me and I was then fired from my contract. I was told to hand over my badge and was walked from the building with no explanation as to what I had done. I was only told they did not want me on call, and I have not even had the chance to come in for one shift of call. Not even as an "extra" for the shift. My travel company was useless and now I have been placed on the DNU list for ALL HCA facilities. 03/27/2015
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Hotel. Housing was located in city of unknown. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1.
  • I worked in the Cardiac Cath Lab department(s) in the hospital. On call was >15 days a month sometimes three weekends a month. Very short on RN's. The people were very nice and pleasant to work with, which offsets the amount of call. One person though in this small department is too reactive to situations beyond anyone's control. At times it was demoralizing to staff. I felt so sorry for them because it is a person in top management. 10/07/2013
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Fairways. Housing was located in city of Derry. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. While nice looking on the outside, the inside was very dated. No microwave and one air conditioner that did not cool the rest of the apartment. When police were constantly there, after questioning, I found out it was a Section 8 complex.
