- I worked in the Neuro ICU department(s) in the hospital. Loved working here overall, stayed slightly less than a year, made quite a few friends & considered hiring on permanently. Orientation was improved and geared toward travelers. Enjoyed the staff, NPs and MDs immensely. Management is often present during the day. Scheduling was a bit annoying initially and very difficult to get a hold of; but its like that with everyone and worked itself out. Have dedicated Charge RNs, who allegedly micromanage, as some travelers felt they got the hassle from certain Charge RNs. Personally did not experience this though. Floated maybe once or twice every 2 weeks, travelers float first to cardiac ICU, ICVU, hospital float or floor (ratio 1:4). Cafeteria is closed at night, but food is okay. Parking is terrible in Seattle, no way around it. 12$/day otherwise or walk. 08/24/2016
Housing was approximately 0.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Apodment. Housing was located in city of Capitol Hill. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Found my own housing. Pricey area, did well for solo traveler (no pets) in 240sq foot room w/ private bath and kitchenette. Free street parking ok if you can find a spot. - I worked in the Neuro ICU department(s) in the hospital. This hospital could be a great place to work, but the management doesn't seem to care about any legit complaints that we come to them with. Drug wasting policies are lax and drugs keep coming up missing. One of the night charge nurses is always stepping on your toes, calling doctors without asking you and doing things to your patient without your consent. Yet she doesn't even know how to be a nurse. There isn't any nurse retention here because of all the pettiness and tattle telling that goes on. That's why it's 85% travelers. And this sort of pettiness is allowed by management. 03/11/2016
Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Extended stay america. Housing was located in city of Bellevue. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Housing was excellent for the area I was in - difficult to find adequate nearby RV campgrounds...ended up somewhere ok, but very expensive. 11/06/2008
