- I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. The staff are very friendly and accept travelers like their own. The manager was once a traveler too so she understand what it’s like. I was here from April 2019 - August 2019. I accepted this contract through AMN but I didn’t stay cause I was living paycheck to pay check. My husband travels with me and pulls our fifth wheel so I have two vehicle payments and an RV payment so I have a good amount of bills. Many travelers that were there had extended their contracts. Even though this is a Level III Trauma Center, you really don’t get a lot of traumas due to the close proximity of higher trauma centers in the area. Even though it’s not required, it’s important to obtain you TNCC out else you won’t be able to participate in the codes and such. It’s a pretty busy ER but they have a lot of paramedics who also work on the trucks so they are very knowledgeable. For the most part, the doctors are nice to the nurses. I never had an issue with any of them! I found the charge nurses easy to talk to & come to with any issues. You don’t have to take your own patients for scans. AND they have a pharmacist in the ED to mix meds, TPA, and prepare code medications during a code. It’s wonderful. Patients who come through triage often have IVs, blood drawn, and urine collected by the time they get in your room. It’s a 25 bed ER + 4 trauma beds, and a separate pediatric ER with 4 rooms. The scrubs required are navy blue. Definitely a hospital I’d recommend. 04/05/2020
Housing was approximately 18 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Sundemeier RV Park. Housing was located in city of St. Charles. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. The RV Park was adequate. It was RIGHT NEXT to the interstate, railroad tracks, and near the airport so planes flew low. It’s loud and not worth it for the price. It was $710/month + utility usage for a bank in. No dog park but did have laundry facilities on site. There is a dog park about a ten min walk from the RV park on Katy Trail though, so that was a plus. Either way, I was disappointed with the cost for the lack of amenities and how much traffic there is surrounding the RV park. - I worked in the Telemetry department(s) in the hospital. Nice looking hospital, no say in schedule. Lots of staff turnaround. Not very friendly towards travel staff. Difficult to locate necessary resources. 03/27/2008
Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Cedar Run. Housing was located in city of Lake St. Louis. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. Housing wasn't very good, but there are other apartments in the area that are newer. Return to top of page
