- I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I worked in the ICU here. I had 2 interviews before accepting the position, and floating to a sister hospital 40 min away was never discussed. At 4pm the day before my first night shift, I was told to go to the other hospital that night (via text- with no prior discussion of this). I explained to the manager that floating to the other facility was not in my contract, or discussed prior to my arrival. She insisted it was in my contract and that I needed to go. I asked to see a copy of what she had for my contract (because what I physically signed had the name and address of only one facility on it), and the manager told me she didn't have a copy. I witnessed other shady things and lies from management there too. Management treated travelers like trash. Physicians treated nurses worse than anywhere I've ever seen. It's a shame because the area is absolutely stunning and the hospital has the money to be great. 02/01/2021

On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Found an apartment on Furnished Finders and I could walk to the facility each shift. - I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. Everyone I worked with was great and they really have there system down. The dynamic is very laid back and all the physicians were great. They have no in house EVS so the nursing staff had to clean the rooms after each case. They didn't pay as much as I thought they should compared the cost of living in the area is RIDICULOUS. 11/25/2020

On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. - I worked in the Telemetry department(s) in the hospital. there are a lot of travelers there and many do additional assignments or come back. the hospital is very small. but the staff are very helpful and there are CNAs now. I barely floated about 4x during a 13 week assignment. They have a New Manager on this unit and she is nice. There isn't a not of diversity on the unit but everyone is open and welcoming. I would recommend it. the area is beautiful with looks of mountains, trails and outdoorsy things to do. 01/15/2019

On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. The area is a bit pricey - I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. Amazingly friendly staff. Director of ICU was amazing to work with. Self schedule was a plus. Everyone there loved working there. Doctors work very well with staff. I'm looking forward to eventually taking another assignment there. The area has so much to do. I found housing on my own and was lucky enough to rent a room with some amazing people. 11/02/2015

Rented room in a beautiful home south of San Luis Obispo. 15 minutes to the beach. 5 minutes from downtown. 10 minutes to work. - I worked in the SDU department(s) in the hospital. I worked in the step down/tele unit. The staff is wonderful, only downside is that there are no CNA's. Would definitely recommend!

The name of the housing complex was n/a. Housing was located in city of SLO. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. n/a - I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. Nice, friendly staff with the exception of one individual on night shift. Everyone else friendly and helpful including the manager of the unit. Self scheduling a plus. 7 bed ICU but they were expanding to an 11 bed ICU. I did have to float to tele unit a handful of times but it was not bad. Beautiful area and a friendly atmosphere. I would take another assignment here. The only drawback is the pay was not the best for California, but the scenery is great. 07/17/2012

The apartment had ocean views and friendly staff, relatively quiet. The only thing I did not like was the hard water. - I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. Small old hospital but a great place to work. 01/04/2007
