  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. The Educator does not cover over half of what is needed, and very unorganized. After weeks of having people look at me like I was crazy, someone was gracious enough to tell me that I was doing many things wrong within their practices. 01/11/2018
  • Housing was approximately n/a mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was N/a. Housing was located in city of n/a. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. .
  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. I really enjoyed my contract at Albany Med. They've done a pretty decent remodel of the department and the flow process so there is reduced wait time for patients. It's a level 1 trauma center so you have the typical shenanigans that come from that. They strive to staff 2-4 float nurses to help during the busiest (on average) times of day. I would gladly go back. 05/25/2017
  • Housing was approximately 0.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was A private home. Housing was located in city of Albany. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. I rented a room in a woman's house.
  • I worked in the medsurg department(s) in the hospital. Manager tend not be truthful and too many managers on one unit, 3. Too much of power struggle within a unit. In addition, no aides to help you and when you do get a PSA, it was waste of time. You end up doing everything by yourself. They are good at writing down vitals on clipboard and walking around with a clipboard and black pen. 03/23/2016

  • I worked in the SICU department(s) in the hospital. People are very friendly. A lot of younger nurses in the unit, turnover rate is high with nurses enrolling in the CRNA program. ratio always 2:1. Half paper, half computerized. Soarian and MAK system. Patient acuity high, which is expected at a level 1 11/19/2014

  • A nice place to stay if you enjoy sharing the breakfast table with other travelers. Not the best if you like to cook a lot. Cooking facilities were pretty basic. Very cozy and inexpensive - 600/mon if you choose the shared bathroom option. Nice location. Historic house with a cool patio.
  • I worked in the vascular/transplant department(s) in the hospital. Great morale and really great nurses. Equipment is old and works poorly. Aides good. PSA not so good - quite a few cannot even speak english so you can understand them at all. 07/30/2006
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Crest Hill Inn. Housing was located in city of Al;bany. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Great housing, provides dinner and breakfast, pool, fitness center, best of all right next door to Dunkin Donuts!!

  • The ER patient ratio is 4:1, but these pts are sick and needs full workups done. The nurse's have to do all rectal exams and guaics. Also the nurse's take admit orders on the phone from admitting docs. The staff is nice and friendly, but there is no time to sit down. The ER is seperate from the rest of the hospital and it is a long way to take admits up to floors. The ER is very small, mostly curtain beds. I would give the hospital a 3 overall, the housing is a 5 though- awesome...
  • I WORKED IN AN ICU. NO ASSINGED RT, NURSES DO MAJORITY OF ALL CARE. HARDLY ANY SUPPORT ASSISTANCE. RESISTANT TO CHANGE. MORALE DEPLORABLE. STAFF WORKS 16-20 SHIFTS OFTEN. NO RELIEF FOR BREAKS. NO PRINTABLE SCHEDULES. MINIMAL COOPERATION BETWEEN UNITS/SPECIALITIES. WINTERS HORRIBLE. HOUSING A 2 AT BEST.

The name of the housing was Adams Station in Delmar about 15 miles from the hospital. ONLY AMMENTITY IS TENNIS COUT AND SUMMER POOL. QUIET BUT COLD APT.
