- I worked in the Ortho-MS department(s) in the hospital. DOS based charting system, time consuming to learn and not user friendly. Extended the learning curve.
Director unwilling to assist staff or travelers with requests for days off.
This hospital gives travelers 4 hrs of orientation on the floor with an outdated computer charting system. 04/07/2014
The name of the housing complex was n/a. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. I found my own housing. It was not a great situation but i opted to stay primarily because the commute to work was only 10-15 minutes. Other options that I found were further away. - I worked in the EP Lab department(s) in the hospital. Richmond and the surrounding area has much to offer for visitors. 04/16/2008
Housing was approximately 24 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Cozy Acres Campground. Housing was located in city of Powhatan. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Great for RV, fifth-wheels, etc but pricy compared to others of same quality - I worked in the telemetry department(s) in the hospital. I didn't get into the ICU areas, but the med/surg floors are woefully understaffed and I didn't think safe for patients or staff for that reason. My unit had 36 beds, usually mostly full. Patient-nurse ratio occasionally got as high as 7:1 though it was usually 5/6:1 which was bad enough, especially since we frequently had only one tech. Nights had no techs usually. While I was there the hospital also cut way back on transporters and we never had any on Sundays, meaning nurses had to transport. 11/14/2006

On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 is the stairs to my apartment which were concrete slabs on a metal frame. Otherwise I loved it! It was in a quiet area, nicely landscaped, and had a fireplace and a skylight. Washer/dryer in the unit. Complex has a pool but it was fall so I didn't use it. Maintenance was prompt when needed. Mailboxes for the whole complex were in a central area next to the office. - I worked in the L&D department(s) in the hospital. Housing was approximately 6 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Belevedere Apts.. Housing was located in city of Richmond. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5.
My first assignment-this hospital and co-workers have made me feel so welcome and everyone has been so helpful. New apartments, swimming pool, and exercise room with equipment. Complex is quiet.
