  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. I wanted an 8 or 12 hr mid or eve job, but the manager contacted me saying they urgently needed someone for the weekends. I wanted to help out and be a team player so I agreed to work 12 hrs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This was my first assignment so I was naive and gullible. Be ye not so foolish. When I got there the manager introduced me and informed the staff- AND ME - that I was the new weekend charge nurse. New to me. This was a completely ridiculous and unrealistic expectation and if I was a seasoned traveler I would have known to say “ Nope - not in my contract.” But, still wanting to be helpful, I end along. Again- be ye not so foolish. The morale at this hospital is terrible- on day one staff straight up in front of me started trash- talking the hospital and their manager. People expressed relief that someone was there to do weekends but when it came down to it, many but not all were rude, disrespectful and uncooperative. The place is run like a sweatshop. Bad first experience. In regard to housing , the Hyatt Place is within short walking distance to the hospital. The Airbnb was maybe 2 miles, right on the Rappahannock river - a PRIME location. This city is super fun- lots to do and see and even more if you don’t mind traveling a couple of hours. Have had an absolute blast. Great restaurants and breweries. If you can stand the labor, Fredericksburg is great. 03/15/2021
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Hyatt Place Hotel & Airbnb. . Housing was located in city of Fredericksburg s. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Housing here with a pet is not easy and a lot of the options are private room shared bath which is not for me with COVID being an issue. I also found out you can really get screwed by hotels.
