  • I worked in the PCU department(s) in the hospital. I work in the PCU/Telemetry department. Still using papercharting but was told next year they would be getting Cerner. Have to go through PSS to chart. You use MAP and Pulse to look at patient's orders which is annoying at best. You also have to go through the patient's physical chart to confirm orders(and don't forget to do that because you will be written up). You use a iPhone to pass medications which can be time consuming versus having a computer and scanning meds like what you'd do on Cerner/Epic. Plenty of double charting especially when doing an admission. Very VERY strict with bedside reporting. Ratios are terrible expect 1:5-7 whether it's day shift or night shift. It's not uncommon to not have a CNA so you're doing primary care despite having that high ratio and having patients who are total care. Also nurses have to do the first vitals. The staff are alright and are fairly helpful. It's really understaffed in this facility. You will really be working for your pay cheque. I'm barely able to take a break or leave on time just because of how poorly staffed this facility is. On a positive note you can self-schedule online. The city of Tampa is a 40 minute drive via the Suncoast Parkway so not to far from doing activities in the city. Until they get rid of the papercharting, do something regarding the nurse to patient ratio and not having a CNA at times, I don't recommend working in this facility, you're putting your license at risk. 12/29/2020
  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Private Housing. Housing was located in city of Hudson. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing can be tricky to find in this area, I used Furnished Finder to rent a room in the area. HomeAway, Airbnb and VRBO are also good options to look for housing.
