  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. This is a small hospital and operates a lot like an outpatient surgery center. They work Monday through Thursday 0645-1715. No call, No Weekends, No holidays. Perfect Schedule!! There are 4 operating rooms but while I was there, only operated in two per day. Surgeries included General, ENT, GYN and heavy on the Urology. There is no ICU at this hospital so cannot do any major surgeries. Not allowed to do open belly cases. More General surgery docs were hired, a podiatry doc brought on as well as a breast surgeon so their hope is to run 3 rooms a day soon. Was here during the COVID 19 fiasco and UPMC ended up cancelling my contract by 5 weeks and they only gave me two days notice. I hear they did that to 19 other travelers as well across the system and they are not making amends for it, so far, by giving us the severance checks. Docs were nice. Coworkers were nice. They gave me a week with someone then I was on my own. No policy or procedures to read/complete. Good place and wish I could have stayed longer. 04/30/2020
  • Housing was approximately 18 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Airbnb. Housing was located in city of Manns Choice. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Found this place on airbnb. Lisa was a great host and she even walked my dog for me every day I worked for a little extra fee. The apartment was below an old church in a small living community. The nice thing was it wasn't too musty but the furniture they placed in there did have a slight smell. plus, with being in the below, there were bugs/spiders that came in to visit which were not pleasant. The apartment was not below ground...I did have a small window in the bedroom as well as windows in the kitchen/living room. You walk out the back door and the neighbors dog likes to bark at you as well as their free range chickens enjoy coming over for a visit. My dog always wanted to chase them. It was perfect though during my time there...not too far away, and quiet. Not too much to do in the area...especially with everything closed with the COVID. Flight 93 memorial is near by...wanted to do that but never had the chance
