  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. Worst ER I have ever worked! Very poor nursing leadership. Complete lack of organization and inefficient workflow. The only time you will get report is when you come on to the shift and that is it. There have been times where I had all my pts dialed in (or close) and without a word one or more patients are moved and there is a new patient in the room. Again no report or warning. The tech that brings in the pt won't even hook the pt up to the monitor. The techs that are helpful are barely around and I can’t tell you why. God help you if you DC two or more patients at once before the gurneys are cold they’re filled from intake or waiting and once again NO REPORT! I was made to feel like a paria for giving report to the floor. Exact words from 2 different resource nurses on two separate occasions was “You don’t give report to them if they have any questions let them call.” They have a “lead” set up but that poor nurse can’t help you much because they’re trying to help everyone else get shit done. Also one phlebotomist in the whole ER. I have no issues with drawing labs but if you to do multiple redraws with high acuity pts. You’ll end up drowning. And when you get stuck in one room this is usually when they switch out your other pts. Occasionally the lead will help but everyone else in the pod is in the same situation. Unable to keep things stocked and what is up with no fitted sheets on gurneys? The others in the unit are all nice enough. They are a mix of lifers that have the “golden handcuff” syndrome with the state pay and bennies. The rest are fed up and looking to get out. Parking is horrible if you have to work mid shifts. 48 bucks and up a month and you can only park in certain areas. Be prepared to walk. Hard to believe that US world report ranks them as one of the best hospitals in California. Very frustrating place to work. Skip this place at all costs. 01/16/2019
  • Housing was approximately 22 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was private home. Housing was located in city of Elk Grove. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Elk Grove very safe subraban hood. Easy to get around.
