  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. This was an interesting assignment. The area is very poor and rural. The hospital itself has change owners multiple times over the years and the hospital itself is very old and dirty. The heat and AC do not work the majority of the time. I was here during the summer and it was miserably hot. The patients would be soaked in sweat and so would the staff. The charting system is Meditech and Cerner. The ER and inpt charting systems don't talk so every pt had to have a printed chart and faxed SBAR and verbal report before going upstairs. Very few full time staff here (mostly travelers) and those that are do not help the travelers and prefer to sit on their phones. The charge nurses are unhelpful and do not pay attention to pt loads. Very inefficient ER-wouldn't come back to this assignment. 08/27/2018
