  • I worked in the 1st medical unit department(s) in the hospital. I worked on a small 9 bed unit. We had two nurses and one CNA. Often we worked without a CNA and we were a 'dump' unit for confused patients making the assignment extremely difficult to prevent falls. The beds did not connect to the wall so bed alarms went off in the rooms, but did not light up in the hall or at desk to see what room it was. I worked nights, so staffing was very limited. We had many admissions at night. We often were bullied into taking patients when we were already overloaded with confused patients. With just two nurses on a unit, and a great deal of total care and confused patients I feel blessed to finish the contract without a negative event. I was pulled to other units and that was a very positive experience. The other units were wonderful to me. I would consider working the oncology, float pool, or 3 medical. Both larger units with good support unlike the 1ME 09/30/2017
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Barton Hills. Housing was located in city of Pinehurst. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing is wonderful. Lots of options because of this being a golf community.
