- I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. If I could, I would give this facility less than one star. They lack basic communication, respect, and patient safety. If for some reason you do not heed this warning, ensure you get EVERYTHING you are told in interview in your contract or they will screw you (especially referring to call/shift/floating). Additionally, on call staff is always here/called because they operate so inefficiently; cases start 1-3 hours late, daily. Staff is hostile and I can confidently say they abuse travelers. 07/09/2020
Housing was approximately 1.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Wedgewood. Housing was located in city of Fairbanks. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. - I worked in the PACU department(s) in the hospital. What can I say other than, IF you ever get the opportunity to work at this hospital you are in for a great contract. The best contract I have had in my 8 yrs of travelling sadly it got cut short due to COVID-19. Best managers, nurses, doctors, and overall healthcare environment I have worked in. They truly care about their staff and the community. I hope to go back soon. 04/02/2020

Very nice resort. Black out curtains, quiet, amazing staff. NICE housing, in and amazing area. - I worked in the pediatric department(s) in the hospital. Best manager I've ever worked for. Such a traveler friendly hospital! Great housing. Beautiful scenery. Mediocre food (not so fresh in Alaska). 07/04/2019
Housing was approximately 0.3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was hospital provided. Housing was located in city of Fairbanks. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Hospital provides housing, no housing stipends offered. - I worked in the Med/Surg department(s) in the hospital. Best ratios I've ever seen. Super friendly staff. Their procedures and policies may be a little different than I'm used to, but a good learning experience. VERY traveler friendly! Everyone floats fairly! I've never seen that before. I extended for 6 months, and I'll definitely be back. 07/13/2017
Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was (friend's house). Housing was located in city of Fairbanks. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing can be difficult to find. Make sure you ask if it is a "dry cabin." (No running water) That is very common in Alaska. Return to top of page
