- I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. Remembering this is a small facility with large staffing needs, ED has 1 RN and either 1 mid-level provider or physician, no techs or UAP's available, no respiratory therapy, on-call lab and x-ray on night shift, and no registration clerk after 1130 pm. RN does these jobs as well as point of care testing, dispensing take-home meds, cleaning rooms, daily checks and when no patients in the ED, assist the staff on med-surg or in the outpatient treatment center. This facility uses Cerner FirstNet/Powerchart. The mid-levels are great about using the system but when working with the physicians, expect to enter all orders and print out discharge instructions. Patient encounters can be feast or famine; no patients to all 4 rooms filled with 3 more waiting to be triaged, although there is not a triage room available. While there are many pleasant things, too many to list, there are many things that can be frustrating about the job that are also too many to list. Be sure to ask lots of questions before saying "I do." 07/03/2017
Housing was approximately 0.5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was individual. Housing was located in city of Osage. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Found a nice Inn/house to stay but no meals served. Close to downtown Osage with pubs, diners and a few fast food places.
