  • I worked in the NICU department(s) in the hospital. I've loved working at this hospital. The staff in the NICU are wonderful. Very accepting of travelers. They work together as a team. The unit is a small level 3 with transport. That being said, when the census is down, which it was for a lot of time last fall, policy changes and budget overruns dictated that travelers are first to cancel and first to float. Float is generally to mother/baby. There were a lot of weeks that I got only on-call hours. When my contract ended, they were requiring 2 permanent staff on at all times, and with a patient census of 6 and regular staff to schedule, left me sitting home a lot. If the census were high, I would definitely go back. 04/20/2017
  • Housing was approximately 3 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was N/A. Housing was located in city of Mishawaka/South Bend. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I always found my own housing--Typically a room with a shared bathroom and shared kitchen.
