  • I worked in the Operating Room department(s) in the hospital. I regret doing an assignment at Mills. Everthing from the boarding process to schedule was a complete disaster. For orientation you had to drive to another facility then drive back to orientation. The nurse educator is new and the interim nurse manager is new (bad attitude). More travel nurses in department then full time staff. Alot of changes in management. Person who does your schedule and payroll is in remote location with minimal interaction with staff members.Travel nurses work 10 hour weekends Saturday and Sunday, while staff nurse work 8 hour charge nurse on weekends. Lots of choas and confusion. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! 10/16/2020
  • Housing was approximately 8 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Prive home. Housing was located in city of San Francisco . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. Housing is very high. Parking can be an issue.
  • I worked in the Med-surg department(s) in the hospital. Interview "you may float" Reality "you float every shift." Telemetry patients on med-surg unit and hospital does not abide by the state law 1:4 ratio. Its 1:5 oh well. Staff is rude hateful and does not like travelers because they feel management is hiring travelers instead of permanent staff. Management is seriously rude and standing over you at shift change to drop whatever and get off the clock so they don't have to pay overtime. The patient population is very elderly with multiple comorbidities. Lots of meds, crush meds, dysphagia diets, everyone is incontinent, no CNA's or if there is 1 for 45 plus beds your on your on. Many nurses go without all their breaks to get off the clock on time. Patients are npo is they aspirate, if DNR they starve to death because they don't want a peg or they remain restrained with an NG for meds. Many are restrained anyway because there are too many falls. Everyone, young or old must have the bed alarm set and alarm fatigue is at a crisis level. On coming nurses want to know all the usual stuff you can look at for yourself such as wheres the IV, who is the Dr, when did they have this or do that, whats the plan, whens the last BM. After 4 hours with 5 patients and 8 hrs with 5 more, and the manager looking at you ugly to get out on time, well I've been about as nice as I can stand. I'll never come back, but the money was good because the housing stipend was enormous. The avg cost for a room share in this area is $2000 a month. 02/07/2018
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Airbnb. Housing was located in city of Hillsborough. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Housing is hard to find, expensive, may be a ways away and Uber and Bart are additional expenses. Traffic in this area is a nightmare during either rush hour. If you live across the bay and drive then there is additional expense of the bridge toll.
  • I worked in the Labor & Delivery department(s) in the hospital. Very traveler unfriendly. Talk about travelers out loud. Scheduler was especially unfriendly and unwilling to work with travelers on their schedule. Didn't get monthly schedules until the week before the schedule started. 02/25/2017
  • Housing was approximately 7 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Extended Stay. Housing was located in city of San Mateo . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. Staff was friendly enough, and it was in a very safe area. Not very clean. Was dated. No amenities.
