- I worked in the Geri psych, adult psych, adolescent psych department(s) in the hospital. Overall, my experience at St. Francis was good. The people were friendly and helpful. I thought I was being placed in adult psych. The hospital, however, worked me everywhere else. There were a few nights that I'd be floated to all 3 psych floors before 9pm. I occasionally felt I was carrying the brunt of the workload. Staffing was limited, and there were a few nights they had me charge although I was never trained to. But as I said, staff was very helpful. Unfortunately the 3 floors I worked on used an unorganized mix of paper charting and hardly any computer charting. There were no opportunities for overtime even though they were obviously desperate for the staff. The staffing office was VERY difficult to work with. Clocking in and out was a pain. First, swipe my badge, then run to 5th floor to sign a book, then write it on my agency time sheet. Also, if I want clocked out by 0715, they required a paper from whomever was in charge on the floor explaining why I was late. The main Staffing employee actually changed numbers on my time card because she couldn't "justify" me staying late 45 minutes ONE TIME. On a positive note, parking was good, the cafeteria opened at 0200-0400 for us night shifters, staff was friendly and helpful, and I can honestly say I would return. 09/22/2015
