  • I worked in the Medsurg/Tele department(s) in the hospital. BEWARE TRAVELERS! This hospital treat you terribly (from always giving travelers the highest acuity group to floating you every 4 hours). 05/26/2020
    • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was apartment . Housing was located in city of modesto. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3.
  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. I had a winter contract, worked in the ICU night shift. Floated About 7-8 times. The staff (including the ANM) were very helpful, some were former travelers. Intensivist only on day shift, so you have to page the one hospitalist for patients’ issues at night. Newer hospital, single rooms, lots of free parking. Staffing office would call to change your schedule if your regular day fell on a holiday to avoid paying travelers holiday pay. Difficulty picking up overtime since regular staff wanted overtime. Not a lot to do in Modesto, very quiet. I left town for the Bay Area when I had a few days off. Overall a very pleasant experience compared to other Kaisers I’ve worked. 05/17/2019
    • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Craigslist . Housing was located in city of Salida. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I rented a room from Craigslist that advertised to traveling nurses. Modesto rentals can be overpriced for the area, this particular room was reasonably priced.
  • I worked in the Med/Surg department(s) in the hospital. Beware beware beware!!! I only got one shift of orientation before they cancelled my contract with a big, fat, bogus lie. The staff was very nice during my orientation and there were absolutely no issues during that one shift. Be aware that cancellations of contracts can potentially have you black-balled from the entire hospital system. Apparently, they can just make up any old reason to kick you out. However, they are currently hiring so maybe that is the real reason. This is a horrible way to treat nurses that travel half-way across the country to help them with staffing. Their cut throat approach to travel nurses can be financially crippling so please beware before signing an apartment lease or counting on the financial gains of working at their facility. 07/03/2015

On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I looked on Craigslist for my place. There are also Facebook pages dedicated to travel nurse housing.
