  • I worked in the Acute Care Unit department(s) in the hospital. worked night shift on Acute Care night shift nurse pt ratio is 1:6. This unit acuity is very high. From u get report it is non stop until about 11pm. Hopefully you will get a chance to pee or have something to drink. The nurses are pleasant but overworked. It is not unusual to have only one cna on the floor. When u leave you feel like a trunk ran over you just plain exhausted. The charting is old and it is not user friendly takes forever to chart using this system. If u want to be over worked and burnt out this is the place for u. 07/20/2015
    • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was apt. Housing was located in city of Presque Isle. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Hard to find apts in this area online you literally have to get info from co workers or the local paper.
  • I worked in the Acute Care department(s) in the hospital. Unfair workloads for night staff as opposed to day shift. Dangerous staffing ratios not taken into account with acuity. It's all numbers to them. Sentinel events occur because of this. License flaps in the wind as you are left wondering if you can make it through another shift. 05/29/2015
    • Housing was approximately 30 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was far. Housing was located in city of far. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Look in Presque Isle as well as Caribou. Anything else will be too far. Consider the Budget Motel. They have unadvertised apartments in the back.
