  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. This ER is one of the most disorganized messes I've ever had the displeasure of working in. The ratios are 1:6 and there is almost no consideration for the acuity of the patients in your assignment, so you often end up with 2 or 3 pretty critical patients all at once. The other nurses in the ER are pretty friendly and welcoming, but at least half of the whole ER is travelers, and the few remaining full-time staff are so downtrodden that he morale is horrendous. The doctors are pretty awesome, generally speaking, but expect to do a full work up on EVERY SINGLE PATIENT, even if they're just here for a cough or something simple. 01/21/2017
  • Housing was approximately 15 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was lofts at Harmony mills. Housing was located in city of Cohoes. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. This housing is awesome! It's loft space in an old, reclaimed mill building right on the Mohawk River. The units are gorgeous and they have furnished "corporate" units that are perfect for travelers. It's definitely on the pricy side, but my company was willing to pay for it after I found this complex for them.
  • I worked in the emergency department(s) in the hospital. 7:1 ratio in the ER. Pts thrown into rooms untrained after 11pm. Not fairly distributed among staff. No breaks at all. Nurses usually transport their own pts to the floor. Short on Techs, and the ones there stick by the side of their favorite nurse, so you do everything by yourself! 02/09/2015
