  • I worked in the Med surg department(s) in the hospital. Great preceptors. Great charge nurses, doctors, and techs. However, one FT nurse on day shift in particular definitely has the "eat your young" menatality. It was my first day and she was so rude! Rolling her eyes while I was talking and rushing me. I recommend nights, only to steer clear of some of the ruder day nurses. Night shift nurses are excellent! A lot of travel nurses. 09/26/2017
  • Housing was approximately 29 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Rental. Housing was located in city of ----. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5.
  • I worked in the NICU department(s) in the hospital. At first this hospital seemed like it would be great. Great area, pretty building and furnishings, etc. However, it's terrible. I work NICU and there is no manager. There has not been one for months. So employees are basically free to do whatever they want. The regular staff definitely eats their young and is not appreciative of travel help. Night shift is worse than days. 80% of the staff here is travel! I float constantly. Have not actually worked in NICU in over 2 weeks now. They say "self-scheduling" but travel staff is not granted access to the schedule and they will add you in for days without asking. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!! 01/01/2017
  • Housing was approximately 5 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Oaks of Valley Ranch. Housing was located in city of Irving. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3. Housing was okay. It is clean and safe, but getting hold of maintenance is near impossible.
  • I worked in the OR department(s) in the hospital. One day of orientation and tried to put me on call the next day, I refused, put me on buddy call for the weekend. Then on call by myself. Pt.s asleep in surgery, only to find out they don't have the products needed for surgery, have to wait to borrow from another hospital. This happened numerous times. During the holidays only the 2 travel nurses worked all the other nurses took the week off, Thankgiving and New Years. There is a certain anesthesiologist that tries to find reasons to get travelers fired. He doesn't like travelers. 01/19/2015
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Extended Stay. Housing was located in city of Irving. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2.
