  • I worked in the behavioral health department(s) in the hospital. They are consistently understaffed. They are consistently over ratio even without the call offs considered. The nurses are often working 16, 20, and 24 hour shifts to cover the floor (and take advantage of the double pay and bonus pay, putting their licenses, other staff, and the patients at risk). The charting system is such that you spend about 90% of your time charting and just barely get the charting and audits (night shift) done in time. The admit process is extremely time consuming. The medication pass is inefficient time wise, and nurses are expected to push a computer on wheels during the med pass, which is not ideal for a psych setting. It is not a safe environment, nor is it therapeutic as you have little time to devote to your patients. The perm staff are very helpful and accepting of travelers. 11/14/2014
  • Housing was approximately 10 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Best Western Palm Court Inn. Housing was located in city of Modesto. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5.
