  • I worked in the ICU department(s) in the hospital. This hospital is so far behind the times. I suggested a Precedex gtt. on a pt. and the doctor and pharmacist on rounds did not know what this was. Staff on nights were a bunch of young nurses who played on their phones and watched t.v. at night and their patients didn't get turned, bathed or cared for. Manager would screw with your schedule. Tell you that you could have a day off and then change her mind. Equipment is not up do date. Poor education level of the staff. I ran many codes there and the staff did not know what to do. This hospital has been under review by many government agencies. 02/25/2018
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Candlewood Suites - Room 323. Housing was located in city of Chambersburg. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Candlewood suites offered everything I needed.
  • I worked in the Tele-Observation department(s) in the hospital. Heard a lot of talk about low morale and drama on other units but my experience was very positive! Everyone was welcoming and helpful.Unit was located in recently constructed addition, spacious and well equipped. Standard RN to patient ratio 5:1. Would gladly go back. 09/02/2016
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Days Inn. Housing was located in city of Chamberburg. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. Plenty of hotel options within 10 minute drive of facility. Looked briefly into renting an apt. but quickly discovered hotel was the best way to go. Safe area with a lot of Civil War history.
  • I worked in the OB department(s) in the hospital. 07/15/2016
  • The name of the housing complex was RV. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3.
  • I worked in the Med surg department(s) in the hospital. Staff and clinical managers (charge nurses) very condescending to travelers. Nonstop INsincere "are you ok?" clinical managers who acted like travelers were an imminent threat to pt safety. There were the free for all weekends when the clinical managers were not there and the other staff nurses would use those nights to give travelers all the admits and travelers and when asked about it they would try to convince you that "everyone" had already gotten one...even though you knew that by looking at the empty beds at the beginning of the shift there were not enough empty beds for admissions to,have cycled thru all 5 nurses already. Even tho the money was good and the town is in an awesome place to do roadside around the East Coast, most travelers only stayed for the 13 cuz the staff give the condescending cold shoulder to travelers who had wonderful skills. Majority of staff had only been nurses for 2-3 years, even the clinical managers had only been for 5 yrs. Staff wouldn't fill out parts of,the pts charts for days but charge nurses wait for travelers to have those pts and then have US go and fill out those chart sections the staff hadn't been charting in. 01/11/2016
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Candlewood . Housing was located in city of Chambersburg . On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Wonderful housing, you get very spoiled.
  • I worked in the M/S department(s) in the hospital. I have traveled many years. Worked in city/teaching hospital. Which can be tough for new travlers. I have never given a bad review towards a hospital I can handle almost anything till this. Rude staff except for a few then I had a bully. other travelers got fed up and left, others where set up by staff for failure within 3days if they didn't like you for some odd reason and dismissed and they where good nurses I finished my contract by keeping my head down and hide Oh you will get dumped on but that's why we get paid. 12/22/2015
  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was travel lodge. Housing was located in city of chambersburg. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 3.
  • I worked in the Labor and delivery department(s) in the hospital. I received four hours of orientation on the floor. With no hospital orientation. I was not given access to programs needed to do my charting or my patient care. The staff was hostile and I felt like I was in a war zone. This was one of those assignments where I counted down the hours left to work not the day. 11/04/2014
