  • I worked in the ED department(s) in the hospital. Free standing ED this really needs to be revised, why would patients go to a free standing and be transferred to any other accepting facility if admitted.) this could potentially mean travel of up to an hour for elderly family members to visit a loved one/spouse. You will be required to transport critical patients (trauma,Stemi's, ICUs ) by ems ground to higher acuity facilities either in Portland 1 hour away or Augusta. The staff attitude towards travelers vary. The techs are awesome! Wish some of the staff nurses were all like them alot of backstabbing going on between the RNs. Overall experience fair. Surrounding area not pleasant to the eye. I liked Augusta better. Knowing what I know now I would not have accepted maine general thayers contract and would have continued extending at Augusta. Thank goodness it's over after 13 weeks. Oh btw cafeteria is only open until 3pm. Nothing for night shifters. 10/30/2014
  • Housing was approximately 25 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Extended stay augusta. Housing was located in city of Augusta. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 1. Practically no housing unless you want to live near the homeless or drug addict in an apartment having them as your next door neighbor in the town of Waterville.
