  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. Have been here for 10 months and love it - great place, great people to work with (both staff and patients). Entire hospital has a very positive attitude towards patients and fellow staff. Felt like I belonged in a matter of days. Word of warning - it is a long way from the big city but if you like country life, it is awesome. 02/15/2015
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Hospital housing. Housing was located in city of Eagle Butte. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. Housing is available thru the hospital but on a limited basis - make sure to secure your housing before you to. Other housing available 20-30 miles away - RV sites available spring to fall from local residents
  • I worked in the Emergency department(s) in the hospital. This was my first travel assignment. It is a good place to start traveling. It is a 10 bed ED, the staff nurses and physicians/P.A's are very welcoming to travelers. The housing situation is hit or miss. I had to stay in the Cheyenne River Motel for about 3 weeks before I was placed in government housing. Once I was placed, though, the assignment was great! It is in the middle of nowhere. Pierre is the closest city 90 miles away. Rapid City has more shopping options at 150 miles away. 07/03/2014
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was government housing. Housing was located in city of Eagle Butte. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 5. The transient housing offered by the hospital is amazing. It does take some time to get placed. Keep persistent on your manager to get placed in housing, or otherwise you're relegated to the Cheyenne River Motel.
  • I worked in the ER department(s) in the hospital. The hospital is great, the location not so much. The hospital is a new, beautiful facility. They are little behind on the times for instance they just got a CT machine. However, the staff (including doctors!!) are awesome. Everyone is very friendly and open to travlers, as there are quite a few. Any questions I had the staff answered without any issues. The ER is only 10 beds, and each nurse typically doesn't get more than 2 patients at one time. So the job is rarely stressful. The manager is also very willing to work with your schedule so you can travel or head home for a week if you want. Unfortunately, the hospital is in the middle of no where. The closest town is Pierre, 90 miles away. So if you want to be in an area with a lot to do, dont go here. But overall I would reccommend the hospital. 11/05/2013
  • Housing was approximately 1 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was varies. Housing was located in city of Eagle Butte. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 2. the hospital employees are provided very nice government housing behind the hospital, however, not very many temporary housing is available, so you stay in the motel for a while. I believe the motel only has 1 extended stay room, so unfortunately living conditions can be kind of bad at first. It took about a month until I was able to move into the government housing.
