  • I worked in the Neuro ICU department(s) in the hospital. Helped open a new Neuro ICU department in the hospital. Had 2 weeks of orientation 10/05/2018
  • Housing was approximately 4 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Rented my own. Housing was located in city of Syracuse. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4.
  • I worked in the Neuroscience 6N department(s) in the hospital. This unit is the only unit accepting travelers and for a very good reason. This unit has a very high turn over and is staffed with new grads because all the veteran/experienced left after the transition to a neuro unit. High acuity unit, constant stream of admissions 1:5 or 1:6 on evenings and 5-8 patients on nights. 1 or 2 aids on nights with a dedicated charge nurse. The bed alarms go off constantly. This unit is a stroke unit and feels like a nursing home at times. Physically demanding because everyone needs help boosting total care patients and changing incontinent patients. You also get ETOH withdrawal and various medical patients. On a 12 hour night shift you will be floated for the first 4 and stay on a unit for the last 8 hours. Management unwilling to acknowledge or address why staffing is so poor and why nobody wants to stay working on this unit. Other areas of the hospital are much much better places to work so floating was no bad in that sense. 07/31/2015

  • I worked in the surgical services department(s) in the hospital. There picksheets are horrible it might have the surgeon's name on that your working with but doubt it is accurate, it could be his partner's pick sheet. Some surgeons can be passive aggressive they can stick you with another traveler so no one in the room knows what the surgeon likes. Everyday they are reinventing the wheel over again. 07/09/2015
