  • I worked in the NICU department(s) in the hospital. Do not expect to like this assignment. Expect to tolerate it. The management of the ICU's treat travelers terribly. They definitely aren't afraid to let you know that you are "just a traveler". They will pull you from one unit to another in the middle of your shift, or even 1 hour into your shift. They will float you to a unit you aren't comfortable in or haven't been orientated to. The units you float to don't care that you aren't certified or qualified to handle the patient load they give you. I have felt like I was jeopardizing my own license a few times but they didn't care. 09/05/2015
  • Housing was approximately 2 mile(s) from the hospital. The name of the housing complex was Downtown. Housing was located in city of Kansas City. On a scale from 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4. I found my own housing.

They definitely aren't afraid to let you know that you are "just a traveler". They act more like they are doing you a favor for contracting you. They will call in their own staff and float you to a unit you aren't comfortable in or haven't been orientated to. They give travel nurses the "bad" assignments.
